Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Phillips 66.
Finance/Accounting
I had two on-campus interviews that were each about 30 minutes long, with a 15-minute break in between. Each interview had one candidate and two interviewers. The interviewers were friendly and we had a good conversation. It was a behavioral interview, and they were clearly looking for answers in the STAR format. If they didn't get all the info they wanted, they'd ask follow-up questions.

We had dinner the night before the on-campus interviews, which was pretty chill and casual. Then, on campus, it was two recruiters asking questions in a two-on-one format. They asked basic stuff like 'tell me about yourself' covering background, campus stuff, and hobbies. There were also behavioral questions, like one about an obstacle and how it was overcome, and another about a group conflict and what was learned. No super technical accounting or finance questions, but they expected us to know about P66. The recruiters were nice and genuine, making P66 seem like a good place. We got an offer the same day.
- Think about how you would respond to behavioral questions.

I met the company at a career fair and then kept in touch with them through other recruiting events. After getting through the initial screening at the career fair, they invited around 30 students, both interns and full-time candidates, to visit the company. During the visit, we had more chances to interact with recruiters and tour the office. Following that, there was an in-person interview with two recruiters I had met the previous day. The interview felt pretty laid-back, mostly focused on getting to know me and seeing if I'd be a good fit.
