I applied on the PetSmart website and had a phone interview. They set up an in-person interview for the next day. On my application, I noted that I need Saturdays off, which I confirmed with the manager during the call and again when I arrived for the interview. I was then informed that the specific position I applied for was not actually available. The manager explained that if hired, my role would involve being a cashier, caring for animals, and occasionally stocking and cleaning, all for $15/hour. The interviewer commented on my quiet nature after they had spent 10 minutes discussing the job. Because I seemed too quiet, they suggested I interview for a dog bather position instead. I was told they would contact me by the end of the week, but they never did.

I applied for the Early Morning Stocker job and got a call for an interview at 4:30 AM. I wasn't sure how to get in, so I waited outside until someone found me. The interview was only 10 minutes, though it felt longer. It was mostly behavioral questions. There were a couple of other people waiting to interview when I left. The manager said he had more interviews and would call me that weekend about a second interview. I did get a call, but they said they were going in a different direction. I appreciated the call even though I didn't get the job. It was nice to get a call back, even just to say I didn't get hired, because usually I'm left wondering.

I applied online and within a week I got a call scheduling my first 1:1 interview. Went to that on a Thursday. The manager said he had to talk to the other manager that did interviews the previous day and they would get back to me. I didn't hear anything by Monday so I called saying I was checking on my application. The manager I interviewed with on Thursday said he was just trying to get the other manager to decide on a time to get me in for a second interview. I got a call a few hours later from the second manager and we scheduled my interview for that afternoon. After he was done asking questions he went to look for the first manager I had interviewed with. He couldn't find him so he came back in the room and paged him. The first manager came in and the second one asked if he thinks they should hire me. They went back and forth joking around then finally the second manager told the first manager to get me a drug test form. It was pretty casual and not uptight at all. Very laid back. I did the drug test immediately after the interview and they called me on Friday telling me I passed the drug test and to come in the following Monday.
