Store Manager
The hiring process was a breeze. I applied online and four days later, I met the Market Manager at the store. We chatted for about 30 minutes, and then I was told someone from corporate would reach out. The very next day, I got a call from corporate. I spoke with two guys who told me about the company's core values and the basic day-to-day tasks. It was all pretty chill and low-stress, but they really emphasize customer service and their core values, which I like.
- What are your thoughts on how Petsense will be received in your local area?
Store Manager
After applying online, I got a call from the market manager to set up an interview later that week. We met at the store and hit it off pretty quickly since we both had experience in the pet industry. I think that helped me get hired because there weren't really any tough questions. It felt more like a two-way chat about pets, retail competition, and how we manage teams. They said I'd hear back within a week, and I did. It was a call from the corporate office, more about the company and its goals than an interview. A few days later, I got the offer, which I accepted.
- Can you describe your management style?
Store Manager
The first interview was around 50 minutes and felt pretty relaxed. They mentioned it would take a week to hear back, but after that week passed, I just got a generic email about the interview's status. I never got a definitive answer, which was frustrating.
