It was quick and personable. They asked a lot about my past jobs, like what my role was at previous places or my worst work experience ever. They also asked a couple of questions about this specific job, like how I'd handle a customer situation or how to get pet parents to bring their dogs in for grooming more regularly.

After applying online, I got a call from the market manager to set up an interview later that week. We met at the store and hit it off pretty quickly since we both had experience in the pet industry. I think that helped me get hired because there weren't really any tough questions. It felt more like a two-way chat about pets, retail competition, and how we manage teams. They said I'd hear back within a week, and I did. It was a call from the corporate office, more about the company and its goals than an interview. A few days later, I got the offer, which I accepted.

Behavioral Other

The first interview was around 50 minutes and felt pretty relaxed. They mentioned it would take a week to hear back, but after that week passed, I just got a generic email about the interview's status. I never got a definitive answer, which was frustrating.

Behavioral Technical

The market manager was very professional and positive about the store. The representative was very knowledgeable and direct. However, store management was very misleading and unorganized. Training was of the poorest quality, and not much improvement was made when concerns about work placements and scheduling were brought to attention.
