This recruiter was laughable, seriously the worst I've encountered in about 15 interviews. I'm not sure what they were thinking. When I described culture fit as diversity, inclusion, professional, and not toxic, they kept pushing me to elaborate on why my last job wasn't a fit, if I burned bridges, and why I left. I told them I couldn't legally say more. And then to only offer $15-19/hr? LOL. They rejected me, but I definitely would have turned them down. They were incredibly rude and unprofessional. They need better recruiters.

Behavioral Presentation

There were two interviews. The first felt like an initial screen, but it went deeper. The interviewer was really nice and made the company sound great and supportive. For the second interview, I was prepped for a mock call and wrote out a script. However, the interviewer seemed uninterested from the start and said he might not have time for the mock call because he had a hard stop at 30 minutes, which I wasn't expecting. So, I didn't get to show my skills as a salesperson. He asked about my background, questioned my commitment because my last job was more dynamic, and asked about my athletic background (maybe to see if I could grind?). It was an awkward interview, and I left feeling annoyed, knowing I wouldn't get an offer.

I had a really good time interviewing at PetDesk. I applied on their website and got an email saying they got it. Then I got a questionnaire about my experience and what I'm like. John Martin, the Sales Development Manager, called me and we talked about the job and my background. They invited me in for an interview the same day because they needed someone soon. John showed me around the office, which is in a nice area and looks great. After the tour, I met some other people. There was a part where we did role-playing. Conor, the Technical Coach, was really helpful and gave me good tips so I knew what they wanted. The role-playing was a good exercise. We discussed the job, what it involves, and my past work. John and some others finished up by asking me some brain teaser questions. I think John wanted to see how I thought through things; it wasn't stressful, more like a fun little challenge I wasn't expecting. Way better than 'What's your five-year plan?'. It was a great overall experience, and even though it didn't work out for me, I enjoyed meeting everyone and I think PetDesk is going to do great things!
