First, there was an email and then a phone call with the recruiter. After passing that stage, you meet the manager and then have a panel interview. Depending on the specific role and your location, the final interview might be in person at the office. The panel interview was the most intimidating part because three interviewers tried to pressure you... which felt odd since we're all professionals.

The interview process had six rounds. Two of the interviewers were really late, over 10 minutes, which was pretty unprofessional. The person scheduling the interviews canceled and then made a new meeting without checking my availability. If I hadn't noticed the change, I would have missed the new time. The interviews had a lot of behavioral questions, plus questions about career goals and to test skills and technical ability.

I saw the job on LinkedIn and applied online. HR contacted me for a 30-minute phone screen, asking about my career goals and why I was interested in Petco. Next, I had a 30-minute phone interview with the hiring manager, who went into more detail about the role and my skills. Then, I had to complete a personality and cognitive assessment on my own. The final step was an onsite visit for four 30-minute interviews with senior leadership, including the SVP, a director, the hiring manager, and another manager. These were behavioral interviews focused on teamwork, handling difficult people, and my interest in Petco. I received an offer about 2.5 weeks later but declined due to salary, which was disappointing given prior discussions with HR. I wish HR had shared the salary range earlier.
