Started with a phone interview and then moved to an in-store step. The staff were peppy and upbeat. They do promotions from within frequently. The role has a lot of physical aspects, seems to be mostly about unloading trucks rather than selling.

They reached out to me by phone. Since she was in town, we arranged an interview at one of the stores so I could get a sense of the atmosphere. I met some of the staff and we toured the store to see if it was a place I'd want to work. After that, she called me a few days later to talk about salary and benefits again.

I met one on one with the director of operations. He gave me a verbal list of what was required of the assistant manager, which was the position I had applied for. We then went through several pages of questions that dealt with company rules, which he and I initialed. At the end of the interview, he said I would receive a call within one week letting me know what the outcome of the interview was. I did receive a call and I was hired.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • On a designated 'long day' each week, either the manager or assistant manager covers the entire day so the other can have a day off. Since you'd be the only manager present on these days, you cannot leave the store. Is this arrangement something you can accept?
