Store Manager
I had a phone interview with the District Manager. The questions were largely focused on my experiences and accompanying duties, as well as shrink management and LP issues. Very productive and pleasant interview. I didnt get a call back for one week. When i called to follow up he was very nice, but seemed to be under the impression that it was understood I was not being considered any longer had he not contacted me the same night of the phone interview.
- Regarding stealing from the company, is it ever acceptable under any circumstances?
- Can you describe your experience with merchandising, both using and not using planograms?
Assistant Store Manager
5 months ago I applied for an Assistant Store Manager position at Pet Supermarket in Zephyrhills, FL but got no response after emailing my resume. I then went to the store, spoke with the store manager, filled out an application, and had a brief interview, but still heard nothing. 3 months ago, the same ASM position was advertised for the Inverness, FL store. I emailed my resume and the store manager called me for an interview. I interviewed a week later and again filled out an application. I didn't hear back until a month ago when I was scheduled for an interview with the district manager in Inverness. They also administered a 12-minute test, a drug test, and a background check. Two weeks later, after I contacted the recruiter, I interviewed with them. Another week passed, and I received a call from another store manager, again in Inverness, and had to fill out yet another application (they seemed to have misplaced the previous three which had my personal information). A week after that, I received a job offer that was comparable to what I'd make as a shift supervisor at McDonald's.
- Tell me about your shopping habits, specifically where you enjoy shopping.
- Are there any places you actively avoid shopping at?
Store Manager
The hiring process is pretty long. For management roles, you first have an in-store interview, then an interview with the District Manager (DM), and finally an interview with a recruiter. After passing these, you're sent for a drug test and background check. All the paperwork is done in person, not online. You'll also need to take a Wonderlic test and a Predictive Index assessment, both of which are very difficult to pass if you don't meet the company's standards. The whole thing can take over a month.
- What is your greatest weakness? Would a reference agree with this?
