The manager will give you a call to set up a time for the interview. Then you'll meet the general manager in person before the restaurant opens. It's about 30 minutes long and a manager will interview you too.
- What aspects of your previous employment did you find unsatisfactory?
Server
Had a chat with a really nice manager who seemed to be Asian. He started with some general questions about how I handle interacting with people and then asked about my sales skills. Knowing about wine is super important! Even though he thought I wasn't experienced enough for the role, he gave me some great advice on what I need to improve to eventually work in a place like this.
- Can you name the grapes that come from Burgundy?
Server
My interview went pretty well because the managers present at the time were good people. Since then, things have gotten way more strict and the process now takes weeks. They're looking for candidates with a minimum of 2-3 years of prior server experience, especially with fine dining background being a plus.
- In addition to your current or past roles, do you have previous experience working in fine dining establishments?
