The interview will sometimes be walk in interviews. They will ask the basic questions and give you some insight of the job. Once the interview is over they will do the whole paper process there or schedule another day to finish. The whole interview itself is 10-15 minutes, it’s short and easygoing.

It was a pretty chill interview process with some basic questions. I only had one interview since I was referred by a friend, which made things super easy. They started me at $13/hr and bumped me to $14 after about 4 months. Now I'm making $16, and I bet they'd give me more if I asked, but I'm planning to leave soon anyway. The team is great, even though there's always that one person nobody really likes, haha.

The interview process was a pain. The general manager was hard to get a hold of and did not follow up on phone calls or interview dates. After physically going to the store on three different occasions over the period of 2 months I finally got an interview. I had 3 interviews with the general manager, one interview with the regional manager and a phone interview with the cooperate public relations manager. The interviews with the general manager were pretty informal and seemed rushed...each interview was unstructured and many of the same questions were asked.

First, I spoke with the recruiter about my past employers. Then, Café Rio contacted me within 24 hours to schedule a phone interview for the next week. The HR representative called on time and asked about my previous jobs. They wanted me to explain a difficult situation I faced and how I dealt with it. They also asked me to describe what a typical day is like as a Regional Manager. It was a bit distracting that the HR rep was interviewing from home with a child making noise in the background the whole time, and I felt I didn't have their full attention.

  • Can you discuss your employment history with your most recent company?
  • Can you explain a challenging situation you encountered and how you managed it?
  • What does your day look like as a Regional Manager?
