Product Designer
Got contacted 60 days post-application and had a screening call, which was okay, just checking background and my motivations. Then, I was invited to a case study presentation with two designers. They asked a lot of questions, mostly logical, about how the research was done, the criteria for participant selection, and what I'd change now. After that, they said they'd follow up, but then they ghosted me and my follow-up email, which felt unprofessional.
- If you were to redo this project with all the knowledge you have now, what changes would you make?

My interview experience with TravelPerk was surprisingly bad; I found the recruiter and HR person really disorganized and unprofessional. The first call with HR went fine, and they said they'd review my portfolio and then do a whiteboard exercise, but then they totally ghosted me. About two weeks later, I got what looked like an accidental invite to the same intro call. When I asked if that was the actual process, I got no response. The recruiter kept saying he'd check with the team, but again, no reply.
- Can you describe your typical work style?
- What relevant experience do you have?
- What's your understanding of TravelPerk?
Product Designer
I went through 4 interviews: a 30-minute screener with HR, a 1-hour portfolio presentation, a 2-hour whiteboard challenge, and a cultural fit interview. The entire process took about 3 weeks. Everyone was very kind and the company has a great culture. However, the whiteboard challenge was quite long which made it stressful. The only negative aspect was that I never received any feedback about the process. I only found out that I didn’t get the position after reaching out a few weeks later.
- Tell me about your background and what you're looking for.
- Walk me through a project in your portfolio, detailing your collaboration and its results. What would you change in hindsight?
- This was primarily an exercise. You could ask anything, and one interviewer acted as a user.
