First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pepco Holdings.
Software Engineer
It was a 3 round process. First was a phone call with HR where they asked how I met the job description. Second round was with the Hiring Manager who asked about my past work experience and why I felt it made me a fit for this job. Third round was a 2 hour structured interview with 4 interviewers. They advised to answer questions using the STAR format (Situation/Task, Actions taken, Result/lessons learnt). Surprisingly, it wasn't very technical for an engineering role. It took about 4-5 weeks to hear back with the good news.
- Can you share your biggest weakness and the steps you've taken to overcome it?
Software Engineer Intern
So, the interview process is pretty structured. They'll send you a YouTube video beforehand that explains exactly how they run things and what they're looking for in your answers. Then, they'll ask you a question, and you'll give your response. After that, they might ask you to expand on it, like asking about the outcome.
- Can you elaborate on the outcome of the situation you described?
Software Engineer
I applied online and heard back within a week for a phone interview. At the end of that call, I was offered the chance to proceed to a 'structured interview' phase and was given a few dates to pick from. About two weeks after that, I found out I didn't get the job.
