First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pentair.
Software Engineer
The interview process included an online test covering DSA, Git, Linux, IoT, embedded systems, and various languages like C++, C#, and Java. Following that, there were two technical rounds, with the first focusing on medium to hard questions related to Git and your chosen programming language. The second technical round was an HR interview.
- Could you tell me about yourself, touching on topics like DSA, Git, Linux, IoT, and embedded systems?
Development Engineer
The interview process was pretty average, but overall it was a really negative experience because they never reimbursed my travel expenses. Specifically, I had issues getting reimbursed from the New Brighton MN office. I interviewed at their Kansas office and that reimbursement went fine, but when I tried to get reimbursed from New Brighton, they kept passing me around in email chains for months. Eventually, they tried to claim my Kansas reimbursement as their own and now they won't respond to my emails. I'm thinking about taking them to small claims court. I'd tell anyone to avoid interviewing with them because it didn't seem like they were serious about hiring for their engineering department.
- Standard questions were asked.
Software Engineer
I applied through my university's job site and then got an email asking for a brief phone call to discuss the company and position, and to see if I wanted to continue. After that, I had an in-person interview with 5 people where they asked about my school work and some basic technical things.
- Can you explain the difference between a struct and a class?
