Behavioral Behavioral

It was a really relaxed, professional, and comfortable interview process. I spoke with both the HR manager and the hiring manager. They asked me about my previous experiences and why I was looking for a new job. They also wanted to know what I knew about the company, so definitely do your research beforehand and come prepared with plenty of questions.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I was initially contacted by a Corporate HR Rep from Minneapolis for a quick 15-minute phone chat to see if I was interested. I sent over an updated resume and then had another 20-minute phone interview with her after she spoke with the hiring manager. She even called me at 7 AM to work around my schedule, though it sounded like she was getting ready for work in her bathroom on her cell phone. After that, I had a 45-minute phone interview with the hiring manager which went really well. He asked specific, relevant questions, explained the job well, and answered my questions honestly. It felt like a good fit. He said the HR Rep would call to schedule an in-person meeting. She did within 24 hours, but the time got changed 3 times before we settled on a panel interview. The panel included the hiring manager, the onsite HR Manager, and the Engineering supervisor who used to be the Quality Manager. It was about two hours long and focused heavily on how I handled tough situations in the past. Some of my questions got vague answers, even though they weren't sensitive. I sent thank you notes after each step. It took over a week to hear back after the panel interview, and I had to chase down the Corporate HR Rep to find out I wasn't moving forward because they felt I wasn't a good fit for the team.

Behavioral Other

The interview process involved meeting with several people, mostly one-on-one, but one meeting was with two interviewers simultaneously. They used a structured behavioral interview approach where each interviewer had a list of questions and rated the answers independently. From my perspective as the candidate, the interview planning was lacking. I didn't receive an agenda beforehand or know who I would be meeting. All I got at the start was a basic list of names, titles, and times, which seemed hastily put together right before I arrived.
