The whole thing went on for more than 2 months. A third-party recruiter reached out to me. I had two phone interviews and then one in-person. It felt like I met with their whole finance department. More than 8 people spoke with me, either on the phone or in person. The in-person part had 6 people interviewing me one by one, each for about 30 minutes, making it around 4 hours total. I wish they would have grouped people together so I wouldn't have to repeat my background story six times.

A Pentair recruiter reached out and I had a phone interview with a questionnaire. We talked for over an hour about my background and the role. The next day, I spoke with the recruiter again and scheduled a phone interview with the hiring manager, which was also an hour-long, in-depth conversation about the position's requirements and my qualifications. We planned a plant visit. The recruiter then sent me a Microsoft Excel skill test and set me up with HR for an onsite meeting. The following week, I went for a 3.5-hour onsite interview that ended up being 5 hours long. I met with 8 different people individually and in a round table. I also had a 30-minute phone interview with a potential offsite colleague. I wasn't allowed any breaks during the 5 hours, which I felt was part of their behavioral testing. After the final interview ran 1.5 hours over, I asked to leave. The plant was closing, and I felt exhausted but like I had completed all their tests. Before leaving, I completed paperwork for drug testing, references, and other standard new applicant documents. I emailed for feedback the next day but received no response, not even a rejection. I feel ghosted after dedicating 8 hours to the interview process, tests, and paperwork. This experience has shown me that this is not a company I'd want to work for, even if offered the job.
