The interview process was a bit lengthy, involving around 4 to 5 interviews. Despite the number of interviews, the team was very friendly, and HR was efficient in scheduling and communication. All interviews started promptly and seemed well-prepared. My main concern was the repetitive nature of the questions asked across all interviews, which made it seem like candidates weren't discussed amongst interviewers.

Behavioral Case

First, I had a chat with HR, which was pretty standard. They asked me about things like how I communicate and how I network professionally. Then, I was quickly moved on to two employees for two separate one-hour case studies. The questions in the first case study were actually kind of irrelevant to the job, focusing on foreign affairs, which was a bit of a bummer.

Behavioral Technical Case

First, I had an HR phone screening. Then, I interviewed with the hiring manager for the role. This involved discussing my experience, along with scenario-based and working style questions. Next, there were two tests: a written test and an Excel test. These were done remotely, with a total time limit of one hour, and were pretty straightforward, though the time could feel a bit tight. Finally, I had an in-person interview with the managing director. It was an informal conversation where we discussed my relevant experience, expectations, and some insights. Both interviewers were really nice and attentive, and they were happy to answer all my questions.

The interview was online with 3 parts. First was a phone chat with HR about my background and why I want to work here. Then, a 30-minute video call on Teams with a senior software engineer leader about my experience, the job, and the company. Finally, a technical interview with two senior software engineers who talked more about the job and asked about databases, software engineering concepts, code quality, and Agile stuff. The whole thing felt good, everyone was nice and professional, and the HR and engineers explained things well, making it easy.

  • Do you find yourself better suited to working alone or as part of a team?
  • Can you share an experience where you had to rapidly acquire a new technology?
