First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Penske Truck Leasing.
Operations Manager
It was a very easy phone interview. I had applied before but didn't complete the process. I reapplied recently because of my current job situation. I really enjoyed speaking with the recruiter again, and everyone seemed very positive.
- What motivated your application to Penske?
Operations Manager
I got a call from a recruiter to set up an on-site interview. They only asked if I could make it to the interview, nothing about my background. So, I drove 4 hours for the interview. The hiring manager started explaining the job and its responsibilities, and I quickly realized I wasn't qualified. The job posting really misrepresented the position and its duties. I only applied because the posting listed qualifications I met. If the posting had been accurate and the recruiter had done more than just schedule interviews, it would have saved me 8 hours of driving, expenses, and the interviewers' time. The interviewer stopped about 10 minutes in because we both saw I wasn't a fit. It was a total waste of my time and money.
- Could you give a brief overview of your professional background?
- What strategies would you use to get the best out of your employees, especially in a competitive market?
- Tell me about a time you introduced and managed change.
Sales Operations Manager
I got an email to set up a phone interview, then they brought me in for a face-to-face meeting. After that, I had a final interview with a regional manager where they really dug into my previous work history. Everyone was professional and friendly. I received an offer and just had to complete a drug test and background screening.
- Tell me about any gaps in your employment history.
