I was contacted by a recruiter for a Zoom interview. We scheduled one for the following week, but I had a conflict come up the day before. I tried to reschedule, but the recruiter ghosted me. I had to reach out to the hiring manager directly to get another interview invitation, and the recruiter seemed annoyed. If I hadn't contacted the hiring manager, the recruiter might have even told the hiring manager I skipped the interview. The interview itself was formal, like the recruiter was reading from a script, more for gathering information than a real interview. The recruiter said the hiring manager would reach out the next week if they wanted to move forward, or I'd get a rejection. I got neither. Instead, I got another interview invite from a different recruiter, but they apologized the next day saying it was a mistake, without clarifying if I was still being considered. It was a really disorganized and unprofessional experience. I'm almost glad I didn't get the job because the internal operations might be just as messy.

I sent my resume to the contact listed for the job. I got a call from HR to chat about my resume and skills. It was a quick chat. HR said they'd set up a call with the hiring manager. About a week later, the hiring manager called me and asked about my past work and explained more about what the job needs. HR then followed up with a job offer for a contract position.

A current employee reached out and asked me to apply for a job. I did so and was quickly asked to interview with their talent acquisitions team. That interview was formal with a lot of standard questions about my experience, but the person was very nice. Then a week later I was asked to complete another interview with another senior staff member who I would be working with if I was successful. This was much more casual. I then had an edit test a few days later. I asked when I could expect to hear if I was successful and was told I should hear within a week. I chased again after a month passed with no information and was told to be patient as they hadn't made a decision. I saw the job was relisted and chased again. Never heard anything either way after that. Pretty demoralizing experience for such a big company, and have heard from other people they had a very similar experience, both those who did and didn't get offers! Seems communication is bad and they're slow to actually hire people…expect more from such a big name in the media industry.

After submitting my application, there was a three-month wait before the company reached out. Once they did, things moved along swiftly. I had an initial chat with the recruiter, who was incredibly kind and seemed genuinely invested in helping candidates find roles. A few days later, I interviewed with the team. Following that, I completed an editing test, and received the results within a week. The recruiter was very accessible, keeping me informed about expected timelines and offering support. She dedicated significant time to discussing the company culture, potential support systems, and benefits, assuring me she'd remain a point of contact.
