The interview process was brief and direct. They had everything arranged in advance and reconfirmed with me the day before. The interview was conducted in person and lasted for about an hour. They reached out afterward to inform me that I was not selected for the position.

Behavioral

It was a pretty relaxed and easy going setup with 2 rounds of interviews. They ask generic interview questions, but the ones that threw me for a curveball were when I was asked to essentially brag about myself! Know your strengths and how to tie them into the job description. I didn't get this position but was offered an interview for another role on a different team. Be confident, they like that!

Penske is really focused on safety because of the huge financial risks if a driver causes an accident. They'll need to see your MVR for the past seven years. It seems like there might be a few people involved in the process, and they'll introduce you to them. A big part of the job at Penske involves understanding how to handle both the driver's responsibilities and the load itself, and they'll go over this with you. The main drawback is that you might not hear anything back from them for several weeks while they're doing the background checks.

So, I had 3 interviews in total. The first one was a phone chat with HR, lasted about 20-30 mins. Then, 4 days later, I had my second interview, which was a group thing with the current district rental manager, assistant rental manager, and branch manager. It went for about an hour, and they hit me with a ton of questions. The day after that, HR called and asked me for a third interview. This one was with the district and assistant district managers, also about an hour. It was more of a chat to see if we clicked and to learn about my career goals. Right after that last interview, HR called me the same day, and boom, I got the job offer! Got an email with the official offer letter and the benefits too. The whole thing took about 2 weeks from when I applied to getting the offer.

  • Can you share an instance where you had to manage a customer with unreasonable requests and explain your approach?
  • Could you recount a situation where you had to make a challenging decision?
