I applied for the job and my resume impressed the recruiting team, so they skipped the initial phone screening. I selected a time for a video call with the hiring manager. On the interview day, during the Zoom call, the hiring manager realized they hadn't considered my location and asked why I couldn't travel to the work location. I explained it's because I live far away. He apologized for the mix-up, but it disrupted my day. Afterward, I received a standard rejection email.

The whole interview process took me about two weeks, starting Jan 15th and ending Feb 1st. First, I had a phone screen with a technical recruiter who deals with engineering roles. Then, I had a 30-minute video call with the hiring manager, which mostly covered my past experience and how I'd fit into the role. After that, there was a 2-hour video call with several team members. This was split into 30-minute chunks to talk about team fit, technical skills, and problem-solving. The last part was a 30-minute video call with the CTO, which was the toughest part. Be ready for high-level questions, not super technical ones.

Behavioral Technical Case

So the first thing was a phone call. Then, when I got to the interview location, before meeting anyone, I had to fill out this personal form on a tablet they gave me. It even asked for a selfie at the end. After that, I had a personal interview with the QA Manager. It was a really chill vibe, very relaxed.
