The interview process at Pendo was really well thought out. It had four main parts. First, an initial call with the recruiter, which was a good way to learn about the job and the company, and they explained what to expect. Then, a chat with the hiring manager to go deeper into the role, how the team works, and what defines success. After that, an on-site interview where I met another manager, an account manager, and two CSMs. I also got a tour of the office, and everyone I met was super friendly and seemed really into their jobs. Finally, a call with the VP of Customer Success and the hiring manager, which gave me a good idea of the department's goals and leadership. What I really liked was how well they communicated the whole time. The recruiters and everyone at Pendo were open, responded quickly, and were helpful. I even had a couple of calls with the recruiting team before the big interviews to get ready and ask any last questions. They really put effort into making candidates feel prepared and informed, which made a big impact.

I had a phone screen a few days after applying. The interviewer was nice but didn't really listen to me for the whole 20 minutes. I'd talk about my experiences with numbers and examples, and they'd ask a question I'd already answered. For instance, when asked about ARR size, I gave specifics, and they followed up asking about company size. It seemed like a formality, like the role was filled, they had enough candidates, or they weren't interested. Maybe it's a marketing thing to interview without intent. It's a shame because I admired the company, and I would have preferred honesty before the interview instead of wasting both our time.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

This was one of the best interview processes I've been through. It was really engaging from the start. I talked to the recruiter a few times, and they were super helpful answering all my questions, so I decided to continue. Then I had 5 more interviews: with my potential manager, two people in similar roles, an AE I'd work with, two CS leaders, and the CCO. Everyone was smart, kind, and helpful. They asked the usual questions for a CSM role and also let me ask tons of questions. Even after getting an offer, I had more questions, and the Pendo team happily took more time to answer them all. It's a great company with a great product, culture, and people. They're organized and ready to scale. I didn't take the offer because the timing wasn't right, but it's clear Pendo is an amazing place.
