Inside Sales Representative
Started with a personal chat with the Sales Manager to check if I'm a good fit. Then, I had a panel interview, which was super friendly and easy to connect with. After the panel, I had to wait for HR to do their review.
- Can you share about your previous work experiences?
- Describe how you've dealt with past situations.
Sales Representative
The interview process is painful. Gunton HR has a phone interview process. Next step is several personality profile tests. THEN the Wonderlic test. ARE you kidding? Next a face to face with a manager. Last is a panel interview with other managers. Painful.
- 2.5 hours of questioning
Sales Representative
They're not really looking to fill the job in the usual sense. They're actually hoping to find someone who can land a new, big account. These territory roles seem to be perpetually open, always searching for that next major sale. The first phone call felt almost confrontational. They use various online tests, but the results seem to confuse the interviewer. The main goal of the in-person interview is to place you in a territory that's already saturated with competing salespeople. The base pay is the lowest in the industry and actually goes down the longer you stay. Auto reimbursements are stuck in the 1990s; you end up subsidizing the company for thousands of miles driven each month. Don't even bother asking about diversity. Honestly, after going through their process, you'd probably hope they don't offer you the job.
- Given that we inform candidates about the job's difficulty and high failure rate, how do you envision yourself handling such an environment?
