Behavioral Technical Presentation

I met with various people. The office was small and not very nice, but the coffee was good. The team had deep domain knowledge and were friendly. They have a hybrid work model with the development team located in India. It’s not a modern company or workplace, but they have a big customer in the banking space.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you tell me generally about your background and experience?
  • I'd like to know about the company strategy and the reasons behind the company size after 30 years in business.

So first there's this aptitude test, if you pass that, you go into one HR round and then 2 technical rounds. The HR round is pretty chill, they just ask if you're okay with working late and some general stuff. The tech rounds are more hands-on, they'll hit you with basic SQL questions and then give you a scenario to create a basic data model, like tell you what tables and attributes you'd need for a library system.

Confirmed questions6 questions
  • Can you explain what triggers are in SQL?
  • What are procedures in the context of databases?
  • What are joins and how do they work?

I applied through other source and the whole process took 5 days. I interviewed at ACE Software Solutions (Andheri) in August 2015. It was a walk in interview where around 70-80 people appeared. The first round was an aptitude test with 6 sections: quant, logical, verbal, IQ (each with 5 questions), Java (30 questions), and SQL (20 questions), each worth one mark. After that, there was an HR round followed by a technical round with 2 seniors who asked about OOPS, Core Java, and my Final Year Project, and also asked me to write a Java program. After passing the first round, I was invited for a second technical round the following week, which was technical cum HR. Two days later, I was called for the final technical round with the Team Lead. After that, they said my resume was on hold and they would get back to me, but I haven't heard from them since.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • Can you explain OOPS concepts?
  • Can you provide details about your projects?
  • Tell me about Core Java.

First was a tough phone call asking scenario based questions about Project Management, with a focus on risk mitigation. The second round was in-person with the Delivery Head, again asking scenario-based questions, this time concentrating on risk mitigation, handling multiple clients, and managing stress while staying productive.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you explain your approach to risk management in a project, providing an example?
  • What is your strategy for managing three simultaneous client requests?
