The interview process went really well, after the 3rd round I got the rejection message. I know I need to improve my interview performing skills a little bit more to their standards, but If I got a chance to work in the top startup companies like Pelago, I'm sure I'm gonna provide my best to them in terms of data handling and any data world problems and make sure to contribute to the company growth in terms of DATA. But anyway, I learned the experience of how the perfect professional INTERVIEW Works. Thanks for the PELAGO Team for providing me this experience. This is a great chance for me to make myself more ready for up-coming interviews.

I had an initial screening interview with their HR person which was good. Talked to their CMO next after which they asked me to do an assignment that required 3-4 hours of work. They postponed when I was supposed to present this assignment because the interviewer had a power outage. The next week, on the day they rescheduled my interview, they sent me an email saying they had offered the role to someone else and canceled. It just showed a lack of respect for my time.

So I had six interviews and passed them all. I got an offer and was so hyped I accepted right away because of the company's vision. But then the next day, the COO rejected my offer. I asked the recruiter what was up, and she said the COO accidentally hit decline instead of accept. This seemed super weird and unprofessional for a COO, making me think the recruiter was lying. She swore it was a mistake, so I gave my references. After they checked out, she threw in these extra bar raiser interviews, which I did even though I was getting annoyed with how long this was taking. Then they ghosted me for two weeks before saying the job was being looked at again. The whole thing was super unprofessional and a huge waste of my time. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're ready for a messy, drawn-out process.

The hiring process involved video calls with the recruiter, hiring manager, and a senior leader, plus a take-home assignment. It's been over two months now with no update, so I might have been ghosted. During the final interview with an executive, they really focused on my layoff, repeatedly asking for the reasons behind it. I found it really unprofessional that they continued to push for details even after I set boundaries and stated I wasn't comfortable discussing it due to a traumatic experience. As soon as I mentioned being uncomfortable, their demeanor and tone shifted, making it seem like they doubted my past accomplishments and work responsibilities.
