Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Peet's Coffee.
Barista
They had a two-part interview process. First, a phone screening to see if I could answer questions quickly and stay on topic. Then, an in-person interview to check my personality and how that would work for customer service. Experience wasn't required.
- Can you share your experience in customer service or food service?
Barista
The interview took a bit longer than I expected, they even brought in the assistant manager to talk with me. But it went pretty well overall, so it wasn't too bad. They asked me stuff about customer service, some situations, my past experiences, and I remember they asked a lot about how to figure things out when problems come up.
- How would you deal with a customer who wasn't satisfied?
- What are your experiences with customer service?
- Can you share a time you had to solve a problem?
Barista
The interview was pretty straightforward and quick. They asked the usual questions and I got the job offer right away. I haven't started yet, but they mentioned the whole onboarding process takes about a week to two weeks.
- Can you tell me about your availability?
- What experience do you have?
- What makes you want to work for us?
