First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Pearl Meyer & Partners.
Analyst
The interview process took 3 weeks but overall was very smooth. The first step is a zoom screening with HR, if selected you will be scheduled for 3 interviews on the same day with different team members and VPs from various offices. Technical skills interview, culture and fit, and a research and communication interview with a small presentation you need to complete and share with team members. After the interviews HR reached out to me on a phone call to extend an offer and I shortly received a formal offer letter via email.
- What is something that is not on your resume that you are proud of?
Analyst
The interview process involved a behavioral interview with a VP from the Chicago office. The questions were typical for this type of role, like discussing my resume, handling failure, quantitative problem-solving, and interest in the position/company. I was offered and accepted a summer intern position. The office culture seemed very relaxed, with a Monday-Thursday work week and many employees taking time off, especially during the summer which is a slower period for compensation consulting. I heard an analyst might take Fridays off or work half days.
- Can you share an instance where you addressed a situation using a quantitative approach?
Analyst
After I applied, I was asked to record an interview which was a bit unexpected. Then, I had a screening call with HR. The person I spoke with was really unprofessional and gave me some major red flags. The next part was a marathon of 4 back-to-back Zoom interviews that lasted about 2.5 hours. One of these interviews required me to prepare a PowerPoint and present it. Although the interviewers didn't really engage with my presentation, some of them were nice enough. They asked about my past experience, my current role, why I'm interested in Pearl Meyer, and my technical and research abilities. I didn't hear back for two weeks after the interviews, so I reached out. That's when I found out I didn't make the cut. The whole experience was pretty off-putting, to be honest.
