Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at PCL Construction.
Business Analyst
So first, I had this recruiter screen, then we moved to some technical and behavioral interviews. After that, there were these case studies where I had to do business analysis stuff, and then I talked about stakeholder scenarios. The last part was a panel interview, they were checking my analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Could you elaborate on your methods for collecting business requirements directly from stakeholders?
- How do you approach the analysis of business problems?
- Can you explain your process for converting stakeholder needs into well-defined documentation?
Business Analyst
We had a Teams call with some basic STAR questions. The recruiter and team leads were friendly, making it a good interview experience overall. You should be ready to answer scenario-based questions and also discuss what experience you're looking to get out of this role.
- What is your motivation for wanting to work at PCL?
- Can you describe a situation where you had to manage a conflict?
- What are your expectations for the experience you will gain in this role?
Business Systems Analyst
The interview process had 2 stages: an HR interview and a Hiring Manager stage. I thought I did well in the Hiring Manager stage. I followed up with HR and she said she'd get back to me once there was a response, but I never heard anything. The next thing I knew, the role was advertised again on LinkedIn.
- Describe your approach to learning a new, proprietary system for which external information is unavailable.
