The interview process at Paymentus was pretty good, felt organized and the people were nice. Had a phone screen first, then a technical interview, and lastly a chat about if I'd fit in. It was a supportive vibe, not too stressful, and they were upfront about what the job is about. Overall, a good experience and it went smoothly.

Had an initial call with HR, then went through 2 tech interviews with scenario-based behavioral questions. HR gave me some time slots to choose from for both interviews, but they always made me pick the earliest one available, so both interviews got done in 2 days. The tech questions covered SAML authentication, how to implement authorization with REST APIs, basic SQL queries, join definitions and types, and HTTP. For the scenario questions, they asked what approach I'd take with two equally prioritized tasks, and why I'd want this customer-facing role given my background. Then, nothing. Ghosted. Seriously, would sending a rejection email take too much time?

The interviewer rescheduled my interview 15 minutes before it was supposed to start, and I didn't have much choice but to agree. After that, the recruiter went silent and ignored all my emails. I had to follow up for a month before they replied and agreed to an interview. It felt very unprofessional and showed a lack of interest in my profile. I never heard back after that, despite multiple follow-ups, and there wasn't even a rejection email. Just silence. I was expecting a much more professional experience from a company like Paymentus, but I was really disappointed.
