Marketing Performance Analyst
The interview process had 3 rounds. The first was a call to align expectations. The second was with HR to make sure I knew what I put on my CV. The final one was a panel interview. During the last interview, they seemed very distracted, maybe because of their workload. They never reached out to give feedback. Even though I made it to the final stage, they ghosted me and never followed up.
- Can you tell me about your experience and in which areas you have spent the most time working?
- Regarding the case study, can you explain how you solved it and what steps you took to reach that solution?
HR Operations Specialist
I was initially contacted for a Google Meet interview for an HR Operations Specialist role. When the scheduled time arrived, I couldn't join via video on my iPhone because I was outside the office in my car without Wi-Fi. I immediately emailed to reschedule, suggesting either a phone screen or meeting at a Starbucks with Wi-Fi. The company's response was that they rely on candidates having good Wi-Fi for a positive candidate experience and declined my request. This response struck me as tone-deaf, making me question if the company practices racism or ageism by not offering a simple phone screen, which was common before COVID. I'm currently working 40 miles from home and can't use my home Wi-Fi while at my essential workplace. I strongly advise avoiding this company as it seems appearance and age are key factors in their hiring.

Senior Software Engineer
It was a long interview process, but the interviews themselves weren't stressful and didn't feel like they were trying to trip you up. The interviewers were all really nice and seemed genuinely interested in what I had to say. It was a straightforward and professional process, unlike some other places where interviews feel like they're just making it up as they go. The whole group of people interviewing me had specific questions to gauge my current knowledge and how I think. They asked about work scenarios, situations where I had to provide examples, or how I'd strategize to tackle something. There was also a take-home test to check my understanding of architecture, which they later discussed. Overall, the interviewers seemed to really care about bringing me on board to help the company succeed, which was a positive thing. The main challenge was just how long the entire process took.
- Can you describe a work scenario you experienced?
- Tell me about the take-home assessment.
- What are your thoughts on open-ended goals?
Data Scientist
Applied online and heard back from a friendly recruiter the same week. Then, I had a technical phone screen with a data scientist on the team. She was friendly too, though her accent made her a bit hard to understand over the phone sometimes. The technical phone screen involved a table join question that could be solved with SQL or Python. The question itself wasn't framed well, and the example output was confusing. It was a simple question to solve, but the interviewer's explanation and the example made it way more complicated than it needed to be.
- Tell me about your past projects.
- Can you solve a table join question using SQL or python?
