Account Manager
A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn with a video about the company and the sales team. I wasn't looking at payroll companies but the video and the recruiter's passion made me interested. I had back-to-back phone interviews with two Regional Sales Managers, then back-to-back in-person interviews the next week. After that, I met with the District Manager, who rejected me, ending my candidacy per company policy. If I had advanced, I would have had a role play and a final phone/Skype interview with the Corporate office. The process felt fair and professional, largely due to the initial recruiter.
- Tell me about your prospecting approach.
- Describe how you conduct your sales meetings.
- How have you managed your sales territory in the past?
Account Manager
The process kicked off with a chat with the internal recruiter, then I spoke with the Regional manager I'd be reporting to. After that, it moved on to a personality profile, followed by a face-to-face meeting with the hiring manager. Then came a panel interview, and finally, a virtual interview with the home office team. This was one of the longest interview processes I've been through, especially in such a competitive sales space where they're looking for a real hunter. The personality profile itself was an hour long and included some really intense math and vocabulary questions; I'm still not quite sure what they're looking to gauge from that, maybe something like the NFL combine.
- Are you experienced in this industry?
- Can you detail your experience managing the full sales cycle?
- How do you use relationships with third parties to secure 1-2 appointments weekly?
Account Manager
The interview experience at Paycor was quite thorough. It kicked off with a phone interview, followed by two in-person interviews at the local office. The final stage involved meeting with several senior managers for an extended session lasting several hours. Throughout the process, the interviewers were very friendly and enthusiastic about working at the company, and I was especially impressed with the local management team.
- Can you share an example of a challenging client interaction and how you resolved it?
- Walk me through how you approach managing your sales funnel.
- When you have numerous accounts to manage, how do you decide what to focus on?
