First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Paul Hastings.
Intern
I dropped my resume at a career fair and filled out a quick survey about what field I was interested in. Then, I got a phone call asking me to come in for an interview. When I went in, I took a short skills test, which was mostly easy computer and grammar stuff. After that, I interviewed with two managers, each for a separate 30-minute interview. The whole thing took about 2-3 hours. The managers were nice and seemed really interested in technical backgrounds. I got a call the next day with an offer.
- Tell me about your experience listed on your resume and what you did in those roles.
- How do you handle situations where you have conflicting projects?
Intern
The interview process involved several stages. It started with a recruiter call, followed by a technical screen, and then an onsite interview. During these stages, they asked questions about my motivation for pursuing law and my interest in Paul Hastings, my previous work experiences, my relevant skills, and my knowledge of IPO transactions.
- Why Paul Hastings?
- Tell me about your past work experiences.
- What skills do you know about the job?
Intern
CV-based questions, no technical ones. There were 3 assessments during the internship: a negotiation exercise, a translation task, and a presentation on a topic assigned to you. People are generally competitive, and they only offer 1-2 TC per year.
- What are your thoughts on the Chinese market?
