Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Patheon.
Chemist
I applied online and had two rounds of interviews. The first interview was more general, covering my skills and attitudes. The second interview was more technical. The environment felt friendly and positive throughout. The whole process took about a month.
- Can you tell me a little about yourself?
- Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult problem.
- What constitutes a friendly environment for you?
Scientist
I started out as a contractor, and after working hard for 6 months, I was asked to move to a different department as a full-time employee. There wasn't a formal interview process, just a one-hour meeting with my supervisor. It took more than a month to get a formal offer letter because we didn't have anyone from HR available on-site.
- Given your qualifications, how do you see yourself staying motivated in this role?
Senior Scientist
I had a telephonic interview followed by a full day onsite interview. It was a panel interview with several people interviewing me for about 15-30 minutes each. The questions were mostly technical, focusing on my knowledge and past work experience. The difficulty was average, manageable for anyone with relevant experience.
- How many years of experience do you have?
- Can you tell me about your experience with different manufacturing technologies?
