First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Party City.
Cashier
I walked into the store and they brought me to the office. They asked me some questions about why I wanted the job and talked about a few things on my resume. I was hired right then and there!
- How would you deal with a customer who is upset?
Cashier
It was a pretty straightforward interview process with simple questions. You just need to show you're motivated, and it's not hard to get hired. I was asked if I had prior experience as an associate, but since it was my first job, I didn't. The manager who conducted the interview was apparently not great and didn't handle the questioning well.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experience or any relevant skills you possess?
- Were you previously employed as an associate?
Store Associate
The interview process was quick and straightforward. It took place at the store's office with the manager. They were friendly and didn't put any pressure on me. The questions were brief and typical for an interview. I was hired on the spot after about 20 questions and started working the following week.
- Tell me about your biggest weakness.
- Are you capable of lifting 40 pounds?
- Can you remain on your feet for 8 hours without getting tired?
