Consulting Manager
After an initial HR chat, I got some prep materials and a practice case interview session since I'd never done one before. Then, there were two more interviews, each lasting about an hour and a half. About 45 minutes of each interview was spent on a case study, with the rest being a mix of experience and competency questions. The company was great and gave really good feedback at the end, even though I didn't get an offer.
- Tell me about your general competencies and past experiences, and let's work through a case study.
Associate Consultant
I had an initial HR chat, then three more case interviews. The first was with a manager and included 30 mins of behavioural questions and a 30 min case study. The second was with a partner, also 30 mins behavioural and 30 mins case. The last one was with a director, it was 40 mins behavioural/prior work experience focused on results, followed by a 30 min case.
- Can you share an instance where you handled a challenging stakeholder?
- Describe a situation where you successfully delivered results in a previous role.
- Could you present a case study?
Associate Consultant
Applied via school. Had an HR screen, then a case prep session. First round had 2 interviews: one case and one behavioral. The overall vibe was not positive; the HR person seemed tired and uncaring, and the case interviewer repeatedly yawned and gave little guidance. The behavioral interviewer was nice and interested in my background. I didn't move to the second round. It was a 'meh' experience; I wouldn't want to work at a place where people are so visibly tired.
- Can you tell me about a project you've worked on, using the STAR method?
