Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Partners Group.
Risk Manager
First, there was a one hour interview with the team leader, mostly casual chat with a brain teaser at the end. Then, on-site for the second round, I had three behavioral interviews with different people. After that, a 2-hour case study followed by a 1-hour presentation where I had to explain my Excel results and thinking process, using 3-4 slides of PowerPoint. Finally, a short chat again with the team leader.
- The case study requires Excel skills for calculations like average, standard deviation on large datasets, and also visually appealing graph creation. Basic finance and risk analysis knowledge is necessary.
Risk Manager
The interview process consisted of 4 rounds. The first round was a brief introduction where I had to present myself, and it was with the head of risk. Then, there was a case study round. Following that, I had a panel interview with members of the risk team, which focused more on personal aspects like personality and weaknesses. The final round was again with the head of risk, covering topics such as risk management principles, specific risk measures, and the valuation of private equities.
- What is your understanding of risk management?
Risk Manager
