Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Partners Group.
Analyst
The interview process is pretty long, there are a bunch of steps before the offer round to see if you'd be a good fit for the company. In my experience, I had about 7 interviews in total, covering HR, team members, and management.
- How do you see yourself contributing to a private markets firm?
Analyst
Had a few in person interviews including a case study round. It wasn't too tough and was pretty manageable overall. It was more about cultural fit than just basic technical skills. The case study was good for seeing how I could think and reason on my feet.
- Why did you choose to apply to Partners Group over other companies?
Analyst
The interview process involves ongoing tests, presentations, and various interview formats like 1:1 and 2:1 interviews. The main issue is that the candidate bears all the pressure. Unlike other companies that progress candidates through distinct stages, this company delays discussing team employment until after the entire lengthy interview process is completed. Ultimately, even after appealing to senior associates, a junior person might decide you're not a personality fit. It's not as professional as other investment firms in the area, which are transparent about your standing because only senior executives make hiring decisions.
- What are your 5-year career aspirations?
