The interview process was pretty straightforward. I actually ended up speaking with two people, which was a bit unexpected, but I was ready for it so it wasn't too difficult. They really focused on why you want to be in sales, so make sure you know your answer to that.

I applied for a Lead Software Engineer role, and halfway through the interview process, they informed me that the position was filled internally, but a senior-level opening was available at the same compensation. I decided to proceed with a second interview, which was technical in nature, to explore the opportunity. This interview involved a panel of engineers who conducted a technical assessment that seemed to be directly pulled from common online lists of senior software engineer interview questions. While this approach doesn't effectively gauge technical skills, it certainly reveals if someone has memorized answers to popular questions. These questions constituted the entire interview, and I was not given any chance to discuss my past projects or experience, which I found quite unusual. I was subsequently ghosted and never received any feedback.

I found the job online and got a call the next day. I was really excited about the interview because it seemed like a great fit. I liked the company culture and the people I met seemed eager to hire me. The marketing department was growing, and I wanted to be part of it. I interviewed within a week of the call, and I thought it went well. They said they had a few more people to interview and would get back to me. After a few weeks, they told me they had good news, but there was a hiring freeze due to fiscal year end. They said it would be about 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, they emailed saying it would be until the end of July. This was fine with me since my apartment lease was out of state until then. August came, and I emailed them with no response. I emailed again and they said the hiring freeze was still on. I started looking for other jobs because I couldn't stay unemployed forever. I accepted another job in October. A week after that, Park Place offered me a part-time job, even though the original offer was full-time. I was very unimpressed by the end. I was so excited at first, but by the end, the company left a bad taste in my mouth. I found out about a month ago they had been bought out, which might explain the hiring freeze. It might be for the best that the job didn't work out.

Behavioral Other

I applied for a few jobs here since I'm already working at the company. The process seems really messed up. I don't hear back often unless I send a bunch of emails. I also don't know about new jobs that would be a good fit, even though they have my resume. When I don't get the job, it takes weeks to find out and I get a generic email from a recruiter, not the manager. I wish I knew why they picked someone else and how I could get better.
