Before a human reviews your application, Pareto requires you to complete an AI interview using Sapia AI. This means you're essentially talking to a chatbot, and there's a chance your answers might get lost. It feels impersonal, like a lazy approach that disrespects candidates' time. There's no real interaction, no feedback, and no transparency; it's just automation masquerading as a hiring process. If this is how they treat potential hires, it makes you wonder how they treat their actual employees. It was definitely one of the worst interview experiences I've had.

The recruitment process was pretty fast. It began with a screening call, followed by a brief phone interview, and then another prep call before the assessment centre. I know some candidates also had an online assessment centre. The support from Pareto before the assessment was really great; they offered helpful feedback and were very responsive. However, on the assessment day itself, we mostly waited around for activities, and the outcomes were shared on the same day. I'd say only about 1 hour out of 6 was spent on actual tasks. It might have been better to share the results via email that evening to save everyone time. It was also harder to get in touch with the Pareto team after the assessment. The waiting time is the main reason I feel neutral about the experience.

I started with a phone interview and thankfully passed it, which was surprisingly relaxed and friendly. After that, I was invited to an assessment day. My initial interviewer, Henry, stayed in touch and helped me prepare my presentation. At the assessment day, we began with introductions where we each shared an interesting fact, which was a fun way to get to know the other 25 graduates. Then, we participated in two group tasks. I was initially worried they'd be chaotic, but they turned out to be enjoyable with everyone contributing ideas. Next was a 3-minute presentation to a manager, which made me nervous but I was happy with how it went. Finally, there were one-on-one interviews that felt more like casual conversations. It was a long day with some waiting, but we used that time to chat with the team members and other graduates. I was successful, but they thought I'd be a better fit for a different role I hadn't applied for. I'm now in that role and really like it, feeling they placed me where I would do well.
