First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Paragon Solutions.
Project Coordinator
After an initial phone screen with a recruiter from Paragon Consulting, who is the main staffing vendor for Celgene's PMO, there was a second in-person interview at the client site. What wasn't disclosed beforehand is that Paragon cannot guarantee a 40-hour work week, even after completing their hiring process. When I was there, upcoming projects were either canceled or put on hold, leading to a decrease in available work. The Paragon team leader, while very nice, was ineffective in managing or informing about new projects.
- Can you walk us through your experience?
SharePoint Migration Analyst
After an initial email exchange and completion of a request, I was contacted by a representative. This company starts project preparations early, and the interview and selection process can extend up to two months. The team is finalized a week before the project commences. Notification is via phone call, followed by an email detailing subsequent steps, including completing the employment onboarding packet and undergoing a drug screening test.
- What is your superpower?
- What would you call yourself, superhero-style?
Project Manager
The process started with a call with the consulting firm to see if I'd be a good match for their client. Then, I had an in-person meeting with the VP and director I'd be reporting to. That was about 1.5 hours where I talked about my background and answered questions about hypothetical situations. The final interview was with another project manager who also went over my background and asked how I'd handle certain scenarios.
- How did you get sign-off on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) being complete when there were still pending test cases?
Sales Director
The interview process was pretty straightforward from start to finish. We started with an initial interview set up by an agency, which was a two-hour face-to-face meeting. Then, the company invited me back to chat with people in roles similar to the one I was applying for. After I felt good about having my questions answered, I met with senior management one last time.
- Can you tell me about your biggest weakness and the reasons behind it?
- What steps have you taken to improve yourself regarding this weakness?
