First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Panera Bread.
Customer Service Associate
I applied online on Tuesday, March 8th. They called me Thursday and I had my interview on Saturday. When I got there, they seated me at a table and offered me a drink. I only waited about 5 minutes. The manager was super friendly. I signed a paper to confirm my application was truthful. He had a list of questions on a clipboard and looked down a lot while writing down my answers. He asked a lot of questions like "describe a time when you did..." and "give me an example of...". He told me if I didn't hear back by Tuesday to give him a call. I called on Tuesday and my orientation is set for Friday!

I applied and got a call a couple weeks later to schedule an interview. I arrived a bit early for my 10:30 interview. The cashier directed me to wait and went to get my interviewer. After about a 5-minute wait, she came back, sat down, and introduced herself again. The interview felt friendly, and despite my nerves, I felt comfortable. She asked about my availability and my experience volunteering as a cashier at my local hospital. She also asked general interview questions like why I want to work there. She inquired if I'd rather work as a cashier/customer service or a barista/server. I chose cashier due to my prior experience. She concluded by mentioning she had more interviews to conduct and would reach out if interested. It's been 11 days since then, and after I emailed 9 days ago, I still haven't heard back. I don't think I got the job and found it unprofessional that they didn't notify me when the position was filled.

I applied online and got a call for an interview after a few days. Then, a few days later, I went to the cafe for the interview. Someone friendly came over after about five minutes and we had a casual, 15-minute chat. He then asked if I could come back in a few hours for a second interview with his boss. I did the same thing for the second interview, waiting about 15 minutes for the boss to come. She was also very nice. The interview was short, and I was offered the job right away. It was a really positive experience.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- In what ways would your friends describe you?
