First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Panasonic.
Software Engineer Intern
So basically there were two rounds. The first one was a panel interview, that lasted about 30-45 minutes and it was mostly about behavioral stuff and going over my resume. The second round was with the hiring manager, this one was about 30 minutes, also resume review but with some basic coding questions on fundamental concepts.
- Can you tell me about your projects and your debugging process?
Technical Lead
I went through several rounds. First, there was a design interview that was supposed to be 1 hour, but one senior person kept me for over 2 hours. After I passed that, HR asked for all my documents and then ghosted me. It was a terrible experience.
- Can you explain the design components of a typical cloud solution?
Software Engineer
It was a longer interview process with 3 interviews spread out over a month. First was a recruiter call asking about my experience. Then I had an interview with the hiring manager where we again discussed my experience, and they asked some behavioral and light system design questions, no actual coding questions. The last interview was a panel with department heads and team leads where they asked experience-based and some technical questions, but it was very light on the technical side, no leetcode needed. The focus was on system design and javascript.
- Can you describe the complete system design for creating a public library application?
- What is your background with React.js and Node.js?
- Share an instance where you encountered a difficult team member and explain how you managed the conflict.
