Manufacturing Engineer
The interview process was very smooth. I spoke with the recruiter over the phone first and was then selected to do an in person interview with the team into which I'd be hired. I did my technical presentation and then went into more typical interview Q&A.
- Suppose you joined the team with no prior product knowledge, no help from colleagues, and no training materials. How would you go about understanding your responsibilities?
Manufacturing Engineer
This was probably one of my worst interviews ever, especially as a woman in STEM. The interviewer focused way more on how I would integrate into the company, given its predominantly male workforce, instead of asking standard behavioral or technical questions. He actually mentioned that I was the only woman he was interviewing and that the room he was in was full of men. It felt really awkward, and I can't say I'd recommend women apply here.
- As a woman in a male-dominated field, what steps do you take to ensure you fit in?
Industrial Engineer
The interviewer was late for 30 mins due to a meeting, but did not bother to call to inform. He was from a different background and did not seem to really understand the technical aptitude of the position. It was a nice chat otherwise.
- What qualities do you possess that you believe align with this role?
- Can you share an example of a time you successfully led a team?
