Coding Behavioral System Design
Applied via agency. First was a phone interview with the Dev manager and a Senior developer. They tested my coding skills with an online coding exercise, and I completed two exercises. Then, I had an in-person interview at their Hammersmith office. I was told there would be 3 rounds from 2pm to 5:30pm. The first was with the Dev manager and HR, focusing on behavioral questions. However, I was informed the technical interview person was sick, so I had to reschedule, which was disappointing as I took time off. My recruiter apologized, and I was called back for another in-person interview. The first part was a coding exercise with two Senior developers observing, which they called pair programming. I finished this successfully. Next, a Principal developer and a Senior Developer conducted a design exercise where I had to design their Bet exchange. It felt like they expected a replica of their current system or something better. This lasted 45 minutes. I didn't get immediate feedback and contacted my recruiter after a week but still haven't heard back, which I find discourteous given the time off taken.

So, the first step was the online application, which was pretty standard. I didn't hear back for over a month, though. Then, I had an assessment centre. Before that, I had to do a numerical and verbal reasoning test. At the assessment centre, there were three main parts: a behavioural interview, a group presentation, and a technical interview. The staff were really helpful, but I felt like having to prep for the group presentation right before the technical interview kind of messed up the flow. I would have preferred to do the prep and the presentation all in one go. There wasn't a step 3, but I did get some good feedback, although I had to chase it up later.
