Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Paddy Power Betfair.
Analyst
The interview process had two stages. The first was a 1-hour Zoom call with a senior analyst, which was pretty relaxed. The second interview was also on Zoom and focused more on my knowledge of the betting industry. It included about 6 or 7 competency-based questions.
- Can you share an instance where you challenged the existing way of doing things?
- What motivated you to apply for this role, and what makes you want to work at PP/betfair?
- Estimate the number of windows in New York City.
Analyst
Had a great call with the line manager and a Director, then was given a task to prepare for a second interview with Directors. After that, there was no response. The HR team said they would get in touch but didn't, and even with numerous follow-ups, they remain unresponsive. There's a lack of basic professionalism in communicating with candidates, showing no regard for the time invested in interview preparation. I'd advise anyone applying to expect to be ignored.
- How do you think your colleagues would describe your working style?
Analyst
Applied online and heard back 3 months later. Decided to still proceed with the interview. Got calls from two different recruiters when they were trying to schedule an interview. When I joined the interview one person was late because they hadn't even been told about it. Same guy proceeded to ask odd questions. Job spec online was completely different to the job described in the interview. Been well over a month now and they didn't even bother to send me a rejection email.
- Can you tell me about your experience and past roles?
