Customer Service Representative
The hiring process felt incredibly drawn out. The HR department seemed disorganized and really swamped. The initial phone screen wasn't very effective because it felt like they weren't sharing notes, so each conversation was like starting from scratch.
- Can you share an example of a time you used the STAR method to describe a customer interaction?
- How would you use the STAR method to explain a situation with a customer?
- Please describe a challenging customer experience using the STAR method.
Customer Service Representative
I applied for the job via a hiring agency. They had me come in for an in-person interview and gave me some tests. After I passed, they sent me to the company. PacificSource then contacted me for a Zoom interview. The interviewers were the receptionist and some other non-HR staff. They asked me a bunch of weird and irrelevant questions for about 30 minutes. I didn't hear back, but they kept posting the job for three months. I guess they couldn't find the right person and had to look themselves. It makes me wonder what they're even looking for. Honestly, I wasn't too upset about not getting it, considering their terrible online reviews.
- Do you have your own reliable transportation?
Customer Service Representative
I had an interview with two women where they asked target-style questions based on their list of competencies. I was asked for examples from my past work related to trust, loyalty, improvement, empathy, adaptability, and customer service. The interview took about 30 minutes. The next morning, they called and emailed to say they wanted to move forward to the criminal background check.
- Can you share a past work experience where you had to be adaptable to succeed in your role?
