Customer Service Representative
The hiring process felt incredibly drawn out. The HR department seemed disorganized and really swamped. The initial phone screen wasn't very effective because it felt like they weren't sharing notes, so each conversation was like starting from scratch.

Software Engineer
I interviewed at PacificSource for a Software Developer position. The whole thing took about three weeks and had 3 interview rounds. First round was a one hour chat with the hiring manager. They asked me situational questions, about my past work, and projects I had done. They also talked about their team and the apps they manage. Second round was a technical interview with 3 people: the Team Lead, a Developer, and a Business Analyst. This lasted about 1.5 hours and was heavy on SQL (Stored procedures, triggers, indexes, sub queries), C#, and data structures. Round 3 was a 30 minute call with the Manager, mostly about my interest in the role and the company. Up to this point, it was smooth sailing. But then came the HR part, which was a mess. The manager in round 3 said I was selected and that HR would send over the offer. HR called a few days later with an offer, which I accepted within two days. I had told HR and the manager in round 3 that I could start in 3-4 weeks, and they were fine with it, saying I was a perfect fit and they had no issues. They started the background check, and I was getting ready to tell my current employer I was leaving. A couple of days later, I got a call from a different HR person who sounded rude and said they were going with another candidate. When I asked why, the answers were weak and unsatisfying. This HR person had been in IT for 13-15 years but couldn't communicate properly, which was disappointing. They wasted a whole month of my time, luckily I didn't resign yet. My advice: stop playing games, be honest, and communicate clearly. Tell candidates about hiring rules upfront and don't give false hope if you're considering others.

Commercial Customer Service Representative
I sent in my application online and then got contacted by someone from HR in Idaho to set up an interview. When I got there for the in-person interview, I checked in at the front desk and was taken to a conference room by one of the interviewers. I met with two women who went over the job duties, the company culture, and then asked me some questions about my experience where I had to give them real examples. I was pretty annoyed after the interview because they said they'd let me know in a week, but after a week, I called the HR person, left a message, and never heard back. After 10 days, I emailed the HR person to ask about the status. Finally, after waiting two weeks, I got an automated message saying I didn't get the job, which is the same message you get if your qualifications don't match when you apply online. They told me at the interview that I'd get a phone call either way. I've been applying for a bunch of jobs over the last year that I'm definitely qualified for, and I don't get why I keep getting rejected. I'm currently 'under review' for about 5 other positions with the company but haven't gotten any info on whether I'm being considered or what the process is. I asked if there's anything I can do differently in future interviews because every time I get called in, I feel like it goes really well. It's just super frustrating.

Customer Service Representative
I had an interview with two women where they asked target-style questions based on their list of competencies. I was asked for examples from my past work related to trust, loyalty, improvement, empathy, adaptability, and customer service. The interview took about 30 minutes. The next morning, they called and emailed to say they wanted to move forward to the criminal background check.
- Can you share a past work experience where you had to be adaptable to succeed in your role?
