The interview process started off great and felt really positive. The first two stages were awesome, the interviewers were clear, authentic, and genuinely engaging. Communication was timely and supportive, keeping me in the loop. But the last stage with the hiring manager wasn't what I expected. The interviewer was almost 10 minutes late because of a last-minute room booking, making me question if the interview was still on. Even though I got the situation, the chat that followed felt vague and informal. No technical questions came up, but the feedback later said I lacked technical expertise, which didn't match the discussion or the earlier parts of the process. Also, only after the final interview did I learn that client demand had shifted and there were fewer Delivery Manager roles available. I'd asked earlier about confirmed roles and hiring numbers but didn't get a straight answer. It was frustrating to find out hiring needs changed after going through all the interview stages. Advice for PA Consulting: Be upfront about the number of roles and any uncertainty in client demand from the beginning. Make sure the interview conversations line up with the evaluation criteria used for feedback. The process started well, but more clarity and alignment throughout would really improve the candidate experience.

So I had a one-hour interview first. Then they emailed me a case study. I got half an hour to look at it, and then I had another half an hour to do a mock sales pitch.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

I applied online via LinkedIn. The process included 1 HR screener, 2 individual interviews, and a final case study interview. There was also an unexpected Partner conversation which stretched the whole thing out way longer than expected. The team seemed great and I could see myself there, but HR was super disorganized and slow with scheduling and feedback, often setting things up for the very next day or times I wasn't available. The main HR person liked using text way more than email, which felt a bit too informal for a formal process, and it caused confusion with scheduling interviews with her colleagues over email. I also felt ghosted a lot between stages, even though the team kept saying how impressed they were with my profile. At one point, I got a random text saying they were 'pausing recruitment' for the quarter, then a week later, another text saying the role was back on. It was really chaotic and honestly felt unprofessional how they communicated. I've gotten so much mixed messaging from them and I really hope this isn't typical for the company, but it makes me wonder given other reviews. It was super frustrating and a big waste of time for everyone, which is a shame because it could have been so much smoother with better communication from the start. Definitely not a good way to keep good talent interested.
