Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at OYO.
Senior Manager
It's a quick process, very data-heavy and case-driven. You'll need to show revenue ownership, problem-solving skills, how you manage stakeholders, and how you execute under pressure. They go deep, ask tough follow-ups, and have high standards. You'll face business cases, leadership scenarios, and culture fit questions. They want to see your bias for action, how you deal with ambiguity, and if you can scale things fast.
- Can you discuss your past work experience and what your responsibilities were?
Demand Manager
When visiting universities they have a campus process. It starts with a basic aptitude round where we calculate average room rate and revenue. Based on that, they shortlist candidates for a personal interview round. In that round, they ask about the different roles we are interested in, and based on our interests, they ask role-specific questions like how to grow the business, market research, and surveys, etc.
- Are you okay with field work and what are your preferred locations?
Demand Manager
The interview process included a group discussion (GD) and a personal interview, followed by a personal interview with the manager. Finally, there was an interview with HR to discuss salary expectations, ask about location, and understand the minimum package expected, along with general life questions.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- How would you handle sales management?
- What kind of stress is involved in managing sales?
