Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oxford Solutions.
Recruiter
The interview process had several thorough rounds, and they are open to candidates who don't have prior experience, looking instead for transferable skills. They are prompt with feedback, and the interview is professional yet relaxed. The people there are genuine and care about their team's culture, aiming to add quality people who will be positive additions to the team.
- Tell me about a time you had to juggle multiple priorities in a previous job.
IT Recruiter
The interview process was a bit long. First, you meet the head of IT recruiting. If he likes you, you meet another senior team member, and this continues. If everyone likes you, you'll answer more questions. Not asking questions yourself might mean you don't get invited back. If you do well, you'll interview with the owner in a week or two. After meeting the owner, you meet the head of IT recruiting again, and he asks for your thoughts. If you seem interested, he'll say he'll discuss his feedback with his boss. Ultimately, if the owner dislikes you even if everyone else likes you, you won't get the job. If the owner likes you, you'll get an offer and be invited back to review it. You then have about a week to decide, which is tough if you're interviewing elsewhere and might have to pass on other opportunities.
- On a scale of 1 to 10, what's your feeling about this position?
Recruiter
The hiring manager and the owner of the team conducted the interview. It lasted nearly three hours. They asked some personal questions that I don't think are appropriate for an interview setting. They were friendly, though, even though it took a long time.
- Tell me about yourself personally.
- What are your personal thoughts on this topic?
- What are your core personal beliefs?
