Account Manager
Got a call from HR and scheduled for a phone interview, then was asked to come in for a F2F. When I arrived, HR wasn't there yet and reception didn't know I was coming, which felt really unwelcoming. The interview itself was incredibly unprofessional, with questions like 'why don't you go work somewhere else if you like certain things?' It really made me not want to work there. My friend who referred me was shocked by how I was treated. The HR person never got back to me with feedback, even after I called twice to let them know I took another position. She also didn't show up to work on the morning she said she would be there. The whole thing felt very unprofessional, and they need to train their staff on how to interview properly.
- Why should I spend my time managing you when I have a high budget to meet?
- Why don't you just work elsewhere if you prefer other things?
Account Manager
Had a screening with a recruiter via LinkedIn, which was a very strange experience. I barely spoke, mostly just listened to the recruiter talk about the company for 20 minutes. I got a weird vibe about the role. The recruiter wanted me to set up a coffee meeting with the office manager, which felt uncomfortable. The part that really put me off was the mention of onsite client visits, where they said you might have to drive up to 60 miles just to say hello. I'd honestly prefer a full-time cold-calling role. The company seemed legitimate, but this role definitely isn't for everyone. I passed on it and went with another opportunity.

Senior Account Manager
After applying, I had a chat with the recruiter, then went in for an in person interview at the office. It was about 30 minutes and covered everything in the job description. They really emphasized being comfortable with 50+ dials a day. Then, I got an offer.
- Tell me about your sales experience.
- How do you feel about making 50+ dials daily?
